Samsung Galaxy Xcover Rugged Handset

In case you are looking for a rugged Android smartphone the Motorola Defy is the best choice presently. The company is also planning to launch the successor of the phone in the near future and it will be named Motorola Defy+. Samsung lately announced a new handset named Galaxy Xcover rugged smartphone in answer to the handsets that have been launched by Motorola. The Samsung Galaxy Xcover works on the Android 2.3 version that is Gingerbread operating system.
The Xcover range of phones was launched by Samsung about a year ago and the phones were basically entry level phone and just had the basic features. Samsung has now taken a step ahead and announced the Xcover under the Galaxy brand.
 
This new handset has a 3.6 inch display along with the Gingerbread operating system. The handset has 3G connectivity and a TouchWiz user interface. The phone is also equipped with a 3.2 megapixel camera and 32 GB expandable memory.
 
Also the Samsung Galaxy Xcover has got an IP67 certification and the design of the phone will protect it from dirt, grime, dust as well hard surfaces. The phone is one toughie and will work even after it has been submerged in the water for nearly 30 minutes.
