Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W570 Review

As quality stems the trust on the product, Sony’s reputation is well renowned and keeping in mind the all-round performance; Sony has launched the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W570 which reduces your difficulties in photography with the improved Auto shooting and low light capturing modes.
A very good thing is that with the help of waterproof casing underwater pictures can be taken with far more better results.
BUILT AND FEATURES
The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W570 is almost the same size as the older version W350 with dimension of 3.6×2.1×0.8 inches. The LCD screen (230K dots) with 2.7 inch dimension has been given a new look, with the 16 megapixel resolution which enhances the brightness of the images. The camera weighs 4.1 ounces which makes it light enough to capture images single handedly. The 3½ inch CCD image sensor delivers good quality pictures, diminishing the hand shake effects. The lenses are also placed in order to remove maximum softness at the edges; for this the barrel distortion is controlled at the wide end and the pincushion distortion is controlled at the telephoto end.
Talking about the storage formats, Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W570 stores images in JPEG format, while the videos are stored in the MPEG4 (.MP4) format. As far as the resolution is concerned, the images can be stored with the maximum resolution of 4,608×3, 456 pixels which is quick excellent. The videos have the resolution of 1,280×720 pixels at 30fps.

The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W570 is inbuilt with a Li-ion rechargeable battery which is sufficient to capture 220 shots, but the absence of an external charger makes the way for a drawback. Like every other digital camera these days, Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W570 supports a wide range of storage media which include SD/SDHC/Memory Stick Pro Duo, Eye-Fi SDHC. It is also accompanied with bundled software’s like the PMB Portable 1.1 (Mac), Music Transfer.
The photo qualities vary depending upon the ISO levels. When the ISO lies in the range of 80-150, the images are bound to be much sharper and show finer details. But beyond this level the images seem to become less sharper and the subjects keep on becoming softer as we go up to higher levels. The worst results can be seen at the ISO 1600 and 3200, which in my opinion should be used only in selective cases. The colors are excellent except the blues and reds, but they also get muddy at higher level of ISO.

Movie mode offers a resolution up to 720pHD with a mono-mic, along with the a considerably good 5 recording modes the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W570 provides 4 essential focus modes which includes the face detection mode option, which is useful while capturing baby faces.
VERDICT
The Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W570 is available in the, market at remarkably low price of $ 179.99 which is $ 20 less than the W350. Overall the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W570 is a compact sleek and handy camera to sport around with friends.
